We are an environmental services firm and are looking to have three short (10-2 second) animations developed. These animations will be used in a sales PowerPoint and potentially on our website.
1. Show a side cut of detention pond that is infested with cattails. Animate the growth and seasonal die-off. As the animation cycles through each die off the bottom of the pond fills in from the decomposition of the cattails. The story that we tell is that if left unserviced these cycles reduce the lifespan of the pond accelerating the need for an expensive dredging project.
2. Show a side cut of a catch basin where the grouting around pipes and adjusting rings has failed. Show how parking lot sub-base material migrates into the catch basis where the grout has failed, eventually resulting in the collapse of pavement around the catch basin. The story told is that if the problem is identified early the repair is quick, inexpensive and is minimally disruptive to the site operations. If left unchecked, the repair is far more expensive and disruptive to the site.
3. The final animation will show a filtration vault. These vaults contain filtration canisters which require periodic replacement. At the same time the vaults require cleaning for accumulated sediment, sludge and other debris. Again my thought is to show a sidecut of the vault in action filtering stormwater. The overlay story is that by having a stormwater program for the site you can lengthen the amount of time between filter replacements. Depending on the size of the system/vault these cleanings can range in price from $10k - $40k for a very large system. The picture below will give you a rough idea what this system looks like.
